KeuKenhof - Lisse, Holland

Tulips!!! Finally, my foot on the seas of tulips, climbed up the wind mills and learnt about different wooden shoes. Also visited a historic parkland of 32 hectares brimming with flowering tulips, hyacinths, daffodils and all other srping bulbs. An overwhelming display of colour, a feast for your eyes and a wounderful spectacle to photograph, just like unique flower shows in the pavilions.
History
In 1949 the then mayor of Lisse, Mr.W.J.H.Lambooy, together with ten leading bulb-growers conceived the idea of a permanent annual open-air flower exhibition. Their eyes quickly alighted on the Keukenhof Estate: the ideal site. www.keukenhof.com
